The family of António Maria dos Santos has been producing Red and White Wines, in the Estremadura Region (west coast of Portugal) for three generations. In 2001, a two brother company, Sociedade Vitivinicola do Formigal, Lda, was formed to breathe new life and direction into their wine making.

Our company owns about 40 hectars of land divided into five diferent parts, stretching over valleys and hillsides of clay and clay-loam soil, with a wide variety of solar exposures, making sure that the wine is enriched by the variety of grapes in our vineyards.

In our vineyards, we have several grape varieties like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Calladoc and Alicante Bouchet.

The heritage of this family tradition lies in the hands of Pedro Maria dos Santos and Nuno Miguel dos Santos, who own and manage the company.
